minimize to taskbar

Is it possible to minimize apps (eg Gaim) to the 
taskbar, so that only an icon is visible in the lower 
right corner? Or is there any plugin available for 
that purpose?

The patch for this (system tray support) is mostly done 
and will be a part of EDE 1.1 release.
